Extra Thick Clear PVC - Heat Protection

Advice regarding heat protection

This product advice relates specifically to our Extra Thick Clear PVC products. (Clear, Austen, Bronte and Nightingale).

Extra Thick PVC products are made from 100% PVC material. PVC material begins to soften at a temperature of approx' 80c (irrespective of the product thickness) which in heat protection terms is relatively low.

Once the PVC surface temperature reaches 80c any pressure marks on the pvc surface, caused by hot plates, serving dishes, cups etc, can leave a compression mark in the pvc surface - once this happens the compression mark will be permanent.

We strongly recommend that any warm or hot items are not placed directly on the pvc product surface - use placemats.
