What is a Vinyl PVC Tablecover ?

Understanding the product

Vinyl PVC table covers are essentially plastic table covers. There is no woven material in the product. This makes the Vinyl PVC low cost, easy care wipe clean, practical and easy to trim.

Within the Blue Jigsaw range of Vinyl PVC table cover products, there are two main ranges, Essential PVC and Uni colour PVC, both similar but with slight manufacturing differences.

Essential PVC is constructed using a plain white vinyl sheet, which is then printed with a design on the top surface. The backing material is a non woven, white polypropelene material. Unicolour colour PVC is a pre coloured sheet (so a solid block of colour) with a white, non woven polypropelene backing material.

The vinyl PVC layer is manufactured to the required specification; the thickness of the vinyl pvc layer is measured in microns (1000 microns = 1mm). The thicker the layer, the more raw material used, the higher the cost. The white non woven backing mataerial is also manufactured to specifications however this is fairly consistent at manufacturing levels.

The completed product will have on overall product weight, quoted is GSM, grams per square metre. Most Vinyl PVC rolls are 140cm wide, so this is the maximum product width. For wider wipeclean tablecloths take a look at our Acrylic Coated range; these are available in much wider sizes.

Vinyl PVC tablecovers should not be confused with Oilcloth - this is a woven cotton product with a pvc coating.
