New designs for 2026

As we start the yearly design cycle for home interiors and table top products European trade shows start in earnest during January and February, showcasing the latest design trends.

At Blue Jigsaw we actively seek out the best designs which we believe suit the UK market for both home and commercial users. In conjunction with the very experienced designers at Portobello Interiors (our Interior Design business) we travel to the trade fairs, meet, review and finally decide on new designs for the season.

After the trade shows finish and orders have been placed, we enjoy a brief spell of calmness before new production stock arrives and then it all starts - photography, marketing, sampling etc etc.

As early spring time approaches, customers start to browse the new designs online, perusing glossy magazines in waiting rooms, doom scrolling on social media and even being subtlety massaged by TV programmes that pick up the early trends and integrate the new themes into production sets.

How do we measure success or failure in our choices and decisions for the new season ? On average, for every 10 new designs, we estimate 3 or 4 designs will be commercially strong. The key question is how quickly new trends and colours are adopted by consumers and business customers in the hospitality sector. Some designs fly off the shelf, other designs can sometimes take a whole season to gain traction.

So, as you ponder what will keep you busy during 2026, spare a thought for the buyers, sitting around tables in the heart of Europe, drinking coffee making decisions that will hopefully bring a little bit of joy to your homes and table tops. Like fine wine, some years are better than others for design.
