Smooth or textued table top

Extra Thick Clear PVC works best on flat smooth table top surfaces.

If your table top surface has a rough texture, decorative slots, grooves (irrespective of size or depth), or any other feature that can cause lack of support or raised profile then the possibility exists that the underside of the clear table protector will be permanently scratched or marked by the table top surface. If your table top has any of the above described features we do not recommend using the Extra Thick Clear PVC product on your table.

Extra Thick Clear PVC is a clear, smooth and relatively soft product so any physical features of the table top surface, other than a flat smooth suface risks marking the clear pvc underside - in this situation consider using an alternative product such as Austen, Nightingale or Bronte which benefits from a fine embossed underside.
