General domestic laundering advice for 100% polyester items
- Do not mix polyester, polycotton and cotton items when washing.
- Classify by colour, soiling type and degree of soiling.
- Do not overload machine, 70% capacity advised.
- Pre-spot heavy oily or greasy stains before washing with a liquid fabric washing detergent.
- Light to medium soiling should be washed at a maximum temperature of 50C. 40C recommended.
- Enzyme based detergents are very effective on low temperature washes.
- Washing above 50C will increase the level of creasing unless gradual cooling of the fabric takes place before draining, rinsing and spinning.
- Using a colour care detergent without Optical Brightening Agents (OBA) on coloured items will reduce the risk of shade variations after washing.
- Use minimum spinning time at the end of the wash cycle and remove items from the washing machine as soon as possible. To prevent creasing lay items flat or tumble dry immediately.
- Do not overload the tumble dryer. Dry on a reduced heat setting and use the cooldown stage.
- Remove items from the dryer as soon as the process has finished and dry fold to prevent creasing.
- Iron while slightly damp at a maximum temperature of 160C (2-dot domestic iron) for a crease free item.
